Delivery Truck Driver 

 

Deliver Truck Driver's are responsible for transporting event décor and rentals to and from Event Facilities.

Job duties will include: loading, unloading, and set up of event décor and rentals at Event Facilities.

Delivery to all event types that The Sweetest Events provides services for: 

weddings

baby showers

birthday parties

graduation parties

retirement parties

corporate events

funeral repasts 

The Sweetest Events' staff is responsible for working as a team, as well as solo, to ensure that events run smoothly. They assist in the overall logistical and operational aspects of the event, and job duties may change depending on areas of need.

Job Details: 

 

Salary: 

$12 - $14 per hour 

Job Type: 

Part-Time

On-Call 

Contractual - hours vary by projects and orders

Majority of workdays are Weekends (Friday - Sunday) 

Some occasional events on weekdays 

Qualifications: 

  • Age 18 or older

  • Must be able to legally work in the US

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record

  • Must be able to operate delivery vehicles in a safe and cautious manner

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel, stoop and sweep

  • Truck driving and delivery experience a plus

  • Must have reliable transportation 

  • Chauffeur's License Preferred, but not required 

Skills:​​

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

  • Ability to follow directions 

  • Truck Driving and Delivery experience a plus

  • Ability to problem solve, manage multiple tasks and priorities and make an informed decision independently.

  • Reliability and flexibility related to work schedule. 

  • Desire to learn and adapt to a quick and ever-changing environment. 

  • Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies.

  • Must be punctual and maintain a professional attitude

  • Must be a team player

  • Must take pride in their work and provide good hospitality

  • Must be self-motivated and take initiative

 

What you will be doing: 

Working with clients, event designers, event staff crew, and the delivery driver team.

Delivery Truck Driver job duties will include but are not limited to the following event needs: 

  • Driving company box truck

  • Using a log and navigation system

  • On occasion using personal vehicle to transport event décor, if needed

  • Loading and unloading event décor and rentals

  • Arriving to Event Facilities on time to deliver décor and rentals

  • Setting up Event Rentals

  • Communicating with clients in a courteous manner

  • Inspecting and Cleaning Event Rentals 

  • Providing excellent customer service to our clients and their guests 

  • Traveling to outside service areas; different cities in Michigan (Frequent travel 30 - 90 miles outside of Lansing)

  • Dress and appearance are consistent with The Sweetest Events standards including wearing The Sweetest Events shirt, and any Special Event Staff badges or name tags.

  • Perform other duties as assigned
